New Growth and new paintings

I love the rich colors abundant in the wilds. As an artist many hours are spent in the field researching, watching, photographing birds and critters that are found there. Immersing oneself in Nature is good for the spirit, and the bonus is watching animals watch us as this quirky young male moose did.

Waterton Lakes National Park was brilliant with blossoms last spring giving us the opportunity to view many different black bears grubbing in wildflower meadows. Cameron Falls are right in the townsite, this view of the falls is a summer view. I've painted a spring view though having trouble photographing it and getting acceptable coloration. Acrylic painting look different dependant on the lighting when taken, as well the camera tends to pick up more underpainting color than the eye actually sees so its usually a two day job just photographing half a dozen paintings.
